Grade 6 debate Finals

Last January 6, 2017, the Araling Panlipunan Area held the Grade 6 Debate Finals at the Multi-Purpose Hall 1 with Grade 6- Modesty and 6-Serenity making it to the end. The students battled it out with their wits and fierce passion to win for their respective houses on the topic - “Digital connectedness is more important than privacy.” After a rigorous deliberation, the judges led by Mrs. Catherine Yang, Ms. Joan Ongchoco, Ms. Mary Or, Ms. Veronica Que and Mrs. Marita Portacion, have chosen Grade 6-Serenity as the winner. Maya Tuviera, also of 6-Serenity was chosen as the Best Speaker.

This annual debate activity develops among the Grade 6 students their critical and analytical thinking, logical reasoning and other lifelong skills such as teamwork and collaboration, extemporaneous and effective public speaking. Preparation for this activity was long and tedious that started with a series of classroom debates. The best debaters in each class went on to compete with the other classes during the elimination and semi-final rounds. As such, the ones who made it to the final round have proven their worth as talented debaters in the batch.
