UNITED NATIONS DAY CELEBRATION (OCTOBER 7, 2016)

The Grade School Department celebrated the United Nations Day last Friday, October 7, 2016. The celebration aimed to develop the students’ social and cultural awareness of the global community where they belong. In this time and generation, we are not only national citizens of the Philippines but we are definitely global citizens no matter what race we belong to. It is therefore our duty to learn, if possible, the global culture because we need to socialize and associate with the other citizens of this world.

In line with this objective, the Araling Panlipunan Area invited parents who are foreigners or who have lived in a different country for some years to share with the students their countries’ unique culture and traditions. A total of almost 80 invited speakers and resource persons successfully left a memorable learning experience to the students of each grades 2-6 class. The students were able to discover new knowledge and experience about other countries. These new discoveries were taught and demonstrated by authentic natives who speak, practice and live the foreign culture that the students should learn as we prepare them for their future exploration of the global community.  (Mae Annabelle Gener)
