Grade School Department celebrates the Environment Week

On September 2, 2016, the Grade School Department celebrated its Environment Week with the theme “Save the Environment, Save Lives!.” Various activities were prepared in and out of the classroom.

The day was started with a mass celebrated by Fr. Makairog Reyes, SJ. It was followed by a short program that previewed the Search for the Miss Environment for Grades 5-6 and Little Miss Environment for Grades 2-4 as candidates paraded and later performed the environment song “Earth, We are All in It Together”.

Classroom activities followed in the different grade levels on environment protection and awareness. ICA alumna, Ms. Maybelle Huang of Batch 2009 together with the representatives from World Wide Fund gave a talk to the Grade 3 pupils on paper recycling. Another ICA alumna, Ms. Stephanie Yap of Batch 2007 shared with the Grade 4 pupils her experience of joining an expedition in the Antarctic. Environmental awareness and advocacy through the Search for Miss Environment capped the activities for Grades 5 and 6.  (Teresita Monsayac)
